The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday said the
command had taken note of the rumour making the
round in the state that the corps will soon start
recruitment of candidates into the organization.
While speaking with newsmen in Dutse, the state
NSCDC Commandant, Malam Muhammad Gidado,
warned the public against fraudsters who were
allegedly inviting interested candidates to apply for
jobs.
According to him, "The Jigawa command of the
NSCDC wishes to draw the attention of the public to
the fact that the corps is not planning any
recruitment for now.
"The corps is not recruiting any category of
personnel," Gidado said.
"The rumour is misleading and capable of creating
confusion among our staff and the command is only
training its staff but not conducting any recruitment.
"The command had received with dismay,
information that some people were already
collecting money from unsuspecting youths to
secure jobs for them."
The Commandant said it has come to the
knowledge of the command that some unscrupulous
elements have started to collect money from
innocent and vulnerable youths for the purpose of
securing them employment.
According to him, the action must stop immediately
as recruitment is mainly handled by the
headquarters of the command and publicized in the
media.
Speaking further, he passed a note of warning
across to the fraudsters to discontinue their
fraudulent activities or face the wrath of the law.
"Intelligence teams of the corps have already been
deployed and we are working hard to apprehend the
suspected fraudsters," Gidado stated.
